Formula E: our interview with Michela Cerruti

Electric cars and innovation in racing too. Michela Cerruti, the first Italian woman to drive in Formula E, was a guest on our first Friday Splash. In the article, the interview video.

When Formula E comes to Rome, the EUR district is transformed, and we — neighbours of EUR between Garbatella and Ostiense — experience it indirectly, for example in the increased traffic!

But Formula E in EUR also represents the idea of our urban quadrant at the centre of global technological innovation, along with the aspiration to a city with finally sustainable traffic.

That is why we wanted to dedicate the first episode of “Friday Splash: a dive into innovation” to Formula E and consequently to the electric car and sustainable mobility. And we wanted to do it with an exceptional guest, Michela Cerruti, born in Rome though adopted Milanese.

Michela is not only the first woman driver to compete in Formula E and a motorsport commentator on SKY, but above all the operations manager of an important company like Romeo Ferraris.

With her we discussed the current and future prospects of research in the automotive world, exploring essential aspects and above all highlighting the central — though little-known — role of Italian industry and research in this field.

The video of the conversation is available on our social channels, with a wholly original and effective viewpoint for anyone who wants to better understand this sector.
