IBM Q Ambassador in Italy: Quantum Computing for businesses
The first quantum computers capable of delivering competitive advantages to the companies adopting this technology are expected in the coming months. IBM is one of the big players of this new market. We discussed this with Najla Said — IBM Squad Manager & Quantum Ambassador — and Eleonora Picca — IBM Data Scientist & Qiskit Advocate.
The Quantum Computer is now a reality. In the coming months the release of the first hardware capable of running quantum algorithms of practical interest is expected.
People have been talking about Quantum Computing since the second half of the 1980s, but only in the last five years have systems been built that offer a quantum programming environment capable of running the first experiments.
In recent months we have witnessed an acceleration in the sector and the topic has suddenly become current.
Last 4 February IBM, on the front line in the development of Universal Quantum Computers, published an ambitious roadmap promising a significant Quantum Advantage by 2023.
But what is Quantum Advantage?
Why will quantum computers be a disruptive technology?
What are the risks and opportunities for Italian businesses?
We discussed all of this with Najla Said — IBM Squad Manager & Quantum Ambassador, Eleonora Picca — IBM Data Scientist & Qiskit Advocate — and Mr Stefano Capezzone, entrepreneur and chairman of CNA Roma Digitale.
Chirale, together with the Fastal-Blu Sistemi Group and CNA Roma, is in fact one of the founding members of the first Italian Quantum Computing centre dedicated to technology transfer towards SMEs.
The conversation held live during our Friday Splash dedicated to the topic is available on video on our social channels.
