TRAINING
First course for the Digital Fabrication Technologist Qualification has started!
The first course providing a professional qualification recognised by the European and regional repertoire — applied to Industry 4.0 and Digital Fabrication — has just begun. Our entire teaching staff and FabLab Ostiense are involved.
For the first time in Lazio, last week the Higher Vocational Training Course began that will conclude with the awarding of the recognised qualification of “Technician for the development and application of innovative technologies and processes for digital manufacturing”.
It is an ambitious training project of about 600 hours, co-financed by the European Social Fund, with CNA Sostenibile as the delivering body and counting among its industrial partners many of the companies of our CNA Fablab Roma network — including Chirale, Blu Sistemi and TCH Sistemi — which, in addition to involving their specialists as teachers, will welcome students during the internship and on-the-job accompaniment periods.
For the first time, one of the professional figures envisaged in the European and regional system is declined in the specific field of Industry 4.0 and more specifically of Digital Fabrication.
The goal is to train professionals with the new skills increasingly required by companies that have undertaken the transformation path of their processes towards the Smart Factory model.
There is no doubt, in fact, that the Fourth Industrial Revolution is now in full swing and that new technologies are destined to radically transform also the small- and medium-enterprise sector.
The COVID-19 emergency, while on one hand it had a negative impact on the current economic situation, on the other gave an important boost to the acceleration of innovation processes, providing clear demonstration of how weak and inadequate current global supply chains are.
In recent weeks it has become evident to all sector operators that interest is growing in technologies such as additive manufacturing or 3D printing — capable of enabling new organisational and productive paradigms.
The Training Course that has just started has as students 19 brilliant young people who passed the selections conducted in Viterbo in June, and will end in March 2021 with the exams for the awarding of the Professional Qualification recognised in the Lazio Region’s repertoire.
The topics covered will include all the technologies and application areas of the Industry 4.0 Framework, including industrial 3D printing with techno-polymers, integrated CAD-CAE-CAM digital fabrication processes, rapid prototyping of Cyber Digital Systems, Industrial Internet of Things, Edge Computing and programming with Machine Learning techniques.
Particular attention will be given to the application of technologies in the small- and medium-sized manufacturing enterprise sector.
A significant percentage of the training hours will be dedicated to the practical and experimental activities conducted inside our FabLab Ostiense, whose laboratories have just been strengthened with the installation of new industrial-class machines and tools for the measurement and analysis of materials.
